The Emerald Neighbourhood Centre (ENC)
is a not-for-profit organisation of Emerald & District Services Development Association Inc. (EDSDA) established to assist the local community build a long-term, sustainable social capital and develop a sense of social cohesion.
The Centre also acts as a gateway to a broad range of universal community support services and as an entry point of more targeted crisis support services in Emerald (i.e. supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people through a holistic and integrated approach).
ENC is well regarded throughout the district as a welcoming place, offering a broad range of activities, services and supports to the entire community.
About these roles:
Must have an easy-going disposition and a customer-orientated approach, as multi-task within a broad range of tasks and duties within these roles and also for the organisation are paramount. Your experience and understanding of community services sector will show in your capacity to work autonomously within a fast paced office environment. Ability to be open minded and aware of the diverse cultural and community differences will benefit how you effectively communicate as you grow in your new role.

Essential Requirements:
- Drivers Licence
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or access to obtain one
- First Aid CPR Certificate (or able to obtain)
- Tertiary Education – Certificate III or higher
- Front Desk Role: Minimum 3yrs working in a similar administrative reception role / or human community services industry to understand clients’ needs and advocacy skills when assisting in provision of supports and concerns
- GSFW Role: Industry working experience with youth to understand needs and advocacy skills when providing support and training service programs
- Effective communicator to liaise with clients, key stakeholders and proactively network with government providers and non-government service providers
- This role also encompasses volunteering for ENC not-for-profit fundraising and events opportunities as a team
- Work autonomously and have well-developed time management skills
- Computer literacy and skills with reporting programs and administrative procedures
- Understanding OHS policies and procedures with a commitment to the privacy and confidentiality of Centre and organisation code of conduct
