Connect Community Together, for Queensland Mental Health Week.
We at the Emerald Neighbourhood Centre are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support and participation at our recent free community event.
The event was a huge success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of our community service organisations and the enthusiastic attendance of our wonderful community members.
A special thank you to the following organisations for providing fun activities for
everyone to try as well as helping to connect community together:
Amanda Foy, CQID - Guest Speaker
CQID
Central Highlands Regional Council
Camille Swallow - Artist
headspace Emerald
JCU Central Queensland Centre for Rural and Remote Health
Catholic Care Central Queensland
Emerald PCYC
Central Highlands Healthcare
Emerald Medical Group
Uniting Care
Outback Exploratorium
Jodi Cowan - Counsellor
Your contributions at this event helped raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing and contributed to an increased understanding of mental illness and recovery.
We are very grateful to have been a recipient of the 2024 Queensland Mental Health Week (QMHW) Community Events Grant Program.
This grant enabled us to host a variety of engaging activities and provide a free sausage sizzle, and free burgers and drinks.
Thank you also to our amazing Emerald Neighbourhood Centre Volunteers including Brian, Lyn, Nisha, Shane and his son, Keith, Kyren, and Pam and our
wonderful ENC Staff who always go above and beyond.
Yarn bombing and Kindness rocks were done as an activity. Some Kindness rocks were left around the park for people to find. There were also affirmation cards tied in trees for people to find and take.
We look forward to continuing to connect and support our community at future
events!
